Scenic Highway remains closed from Grove Avenue to Hillcrest Avenue while crews install new drainage structures. Local motorists should follow the posted detour using Winston Avenue, South 4th Street and Domaris Avenue. Truck traffic is detoured using Hunt Brothers Road, US 27, and East Mountain Lake Cutoff Road.

SR 70 from Lorraine Road to Bourneside Boulevard, Bradenton: Construction project: This project includes widening SR 70 from Lorraine Road to Bourneside Boulevard from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane or six-lane divided roadway, depending on the location, construction of roundabouts on SR 70 at Uihlein Road, Del Webb Boulevard, and Bourneside Boulevard, intersection improvements at the existing signalized intersection of Greenbrook Boulevard and Lorraine Road, construction of four bridges over two Braden River crossing locations, new drainage system, construction of 10-foot shared use paths, street lighting, and landscaping, and installation of new fiber optic cable connecting the two signalized intersections to Manatee County’s regional Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS).
No construction activities are scheduled Thursday, July 4th through Sunday, July 7th in observance of Independence Day.
This week, crews will continue excavating the Pond area on the southeast corner of Bourneside Boulevard and SR 70. Material will be hauled to the south side of SR 70 between Bourneside Boulevard and Lorraine Road and placed as roadway fill. Drainage work will continue on SR 70 at Bourneside Boulevard.
Work will continue with construction of two eastbound bridges, this will involve pouring reinforced concrete beams and grading the river channel. This work will occur during daytime hours. Bridge work is expected to continue into summer.
All work will be off the roadway with no planned long term lane closures. However, it is expected that eastbound traffic will be interrupted for short periods of time throughout the day with flaggers as the dump trucks cross from east to west at the bridge locations. Please use caution and watch for trucks and construction vehicles entering or exiting the work zone throughout the construction limits. Work will occur Monday through Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please use caution and be aware of workers and flaggers in the area.

US 41 from North of Port Commons from north of Port Commons to State College of Florida, Sarasota: Construction project: Project improvements include milling and resurfacing, guardrail, drainage improvements, signing and pavement markings, and signalization improvements. Expected completion is fall 2024.
Daytime Activities:
- Install barrier walls for upcoming lane shifts and close median openings for roadway crossover reconstruction.
- Median openings at Myakka Drive, Riverwalk Drive, Boardwalk, Ortega Place, De Miranda Avenue, Eager Street and Hoffman Street will be closed for reconstruction work. Hoffman Street crossover will be removed and remain permanently closed.
- Motorists will be able to turn right only onto US 41 at these locations.
- Build concrete curb between Tuscola Boulevard and Espanola Drive.
- Curb removal and turn lane reconstruction between Tuscola Boulevard and Ortiz Boulevard.
Daytime Lane Closures:
- Daytime lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Northbound inside lane closures between Tuscola Boulevard and Ortiz Boulevard.
Nighttime Activities:
- Nighttime lane closures Sunday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Northbound inside lane closures between Tuscola Boulevard and Ortiz Boulevard.
Motorists should use caution when making U-turns and be aware of workers in the area.

I-75 at SR 951 (exit 101) Interchange Improvements: FDOT is reconstructing the I-75 southbound on- and off-ramp connections and the northbound on-ramp connection to the mainline lanes at SR 951 (exit 101). The northeast quadrant loop ramp will be connected to, and accessible only by, a direct flyover ramp from northbound Collier Boulevard starting south of the Davis Boulevard intersection. This single-lane flyover ramp will carry traffic over Beck Boulevard and a reconstructed I-75 southbound on-ramp. A single-lane flyover ramp extension will carry I-75 southbound traffic over Davis Boulevard to a new signalized intersection at Collier Boulevard and Business Circle North. This ramp will extend along the western side of Collier Boulevard.
Crews continue to build bridge structures for the new bridge over Beck Boulevard, east of Collier Boulevard. Motorists can expect daytime lane closures between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on northbound Collier Boulevard from just south of Beck Boulevard to just south of the southbound on-ramp at I-75.
Motorists should expect the outside right turn lane from southbound SR 951 to westbound SR 84/Davis Boulevard closed. Drivers can continue to turn right from the remaining open turn lane. This closure is needed for crews to begin work for the force main and bridge foundation installation and will remain in place through job completion.
Pedestrians should expect a sidewalk closure along SR 84 (Davis Boulevard) just west of SR 951 (Collier Boulevard) and along SR 951 (Collier Boulevard) between SR 84 (Davis Boulevard) and Business Circle North. Pedestrians may use SR 84 (Davis Boulevard) to Market Street to Business Circle South to access SR 951 (Collier Boulevard).
Motorists are advised that the SR 84 (Davis Boulevard) eastbound direct access ramp heading south to SR 951 (Collier Boulevard) is permanently closed. The eastbound to southbound right turn will be available at the intersection.
Motorists should expect reduced lane widths for southbound Collier Boulevard between Business Circle North and Business Circle South.

Sanibel Causeway Emergency Restoration: Crews have moved traffic to the permanent lanes on the Sanibel Causeway. The causeway islands surrounding the temporary roadway are an active work zone and are currently closed for public access, including from the water.
Motorists should expect traffic to be intermittently stopped at the staging area entrance as equipment crosses the road with materials for work on the south side of McGregor Boulevard.
Motorists should expect one lane of eastbound travel to continue from the toll plaza to Shell Point Road on the south (beach) side of McGregor Boulevard. The shoulder (south/beach side) remains FULLY CLOSED TO ACCESS. This closure is necessary for crews to excavate and install underground devices (marine mattresses) to reinforce the shoreline. This closure is expected to be in place through summer 2024. The contractor may intermittently use this lane for materials delivery.
Motorists traveling westbound on McGregor Boulevard may experience short delays for FHP to stop vehicles to allow materials deliveries to access the staging area at Punta Rassa.
Crews are installing underground devices (marine mattresses) to reinforce the shoreline, sea wall, and retaining wall along the Causeway.
Crews continue earthwork and debris removal along the causeway islands. Please expect construction equipment periodically entering/leaving the travel lanes when necessary. The contractor is limiting this interruption during peak hours.
The westbound merge location is now west of the toll plaza. Motorists are urged to use caution and obey the 20 MPH speed limit. Construction vehicles and equipment continue to enter/exit the staging area near this location.
Many oversized vehicles are crossing the causeway to assist with recovery efforts on the island. Please be patient as travel may be slower than usual. Bicyclists are encouraged to utilize another mode of transportation to travel the causeway and pedestrians are not permitted on the Sanibel Causeway. MOTORISTS ARE REMINDED TO OBEY THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT OF 20 MPH THROUGHOUT THE WORK ZONE.

US 98 from East of CR 621 to the Okeechobee County Line: Construction project: Crews will resurface US 98 from east of CR 621 to the Okeechobee County line, reconstruct US 98 in various areas, widen shoulders, replace guardrail, and install signing and pavement markings. During construction there may be daytime and nighttime lane closures and traffic will be reduced to one lane in various areas; temporary signals will be installed to guide motorists. Please use caution in the area and watch for workers in the work zones.
- Motorists should expect intermittent daytime lane closures between Kissimmee River Bridge and approx. 0.7 miles south of CR 621 to complete paving, striping. Rumble strips, signing and sodding.
- Anticipated completion is summer 2024.

Week of June 30 through July 6, 2024
Crews will be taking delivery of materials, building metal deck forms, setting bridge beams, and working on lighting. Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures throughout the project from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Wednesday.

SR 64 from Main Street to Spruce Street: Construction project: Crews will resurface SR 64 from Main Street to Spruce Street, improve drainage and cross slope correction, construct sidewalks on both sides of SR 64 in various locations, and install guardrail, signing, and pavement markings. During construction motorists should expect the possibility of daytime and nighttime lane closures on SR 64 from Main Street to Spruce Street. Please use caution in the area and watch for workers in the work zone.
- Motorists can expect eastbound and westbound SR 64 daytime lane closures/flagging operations from Main Street to US 17 from July 1-3, 2024.
- Motorists can expect eastbound and westbound SR 64 nighttime lane closures/moving operations from Main Street to US 17 from June 30 – July 2, 2024
- Motorists can expect paving operations which will entail longer closures and longer queues. Please follow signs and use caution in the area.
Anticipated completion is mid-2024.

SR 72 Stickney Point Bridge: Bridge maintenance: Starting in June, crews will begin work on the bridge improvement project to extend the bridge's service life and operational reliability, while mitigating the effects of the harsh coastal environment, severe weather, and wear from the volume of vehicle and marine traffic. The project duration is expected to be 200 days.
- Residents, businesses, marinas, and mariners should expect construction equipment, barges and noise.
- Marine traffic should be mostly unaffected, although barges will be in the water so crews can work underneath the bridge.
- Residents near the bridge can expect noise from equipment.
- Boat traffic will be maintained during the project and bridge openings remain on a by request basis. If a vessel requires both panels be raised to navigate through, a reservation is required.
- Initial work is under the bridge so there are no immediate scheduled lane closures.
- When temporary lane closures are needed, advance notice will be provided so motorists can use the alternate north bridge or add additional travel time.
- Bicyclists and pedestrians will still have access to cross the bridge.
- Upper deck work, requiring lane closures, will be done in abbreviated 48-hour work cycles once a week.
- At this time, there are no weekend lane closures expected.
- 4th of July Holiday Week: There are no expected or scheduled lane closures for the Stickney Point Bridge Improvement Project. Increased boat traffic during the holiday may require bridge openings periodically.

SR 777 River Road from I-75 to US 41: Construction project: Embankment activities continue southbound roadway from US 41 to West Villages Parkway. Drainage structures, pipe, and curb and gutter installations will also continue throughout the project. Signal, ITS, and lighting work is also on-going throughout the project. Trucks will be crossing the road at various locations using intermittent flagging operations. The contractor and crews will observe the Independence Day holidayfrom July 4 through July 7, 2024.

US 301 from 25th Court East to 13th Avenue East: Construction project: Crews have begun a 7.6-mile improvements project consisting of milling and resurfacing the roadway, widening in areas, base work, curb and gutter, sidewalk, guardrail, drainage improvements, bridge expansion joints, signalization, lighting, and signing and pavement marking.
- Motorists should expect shoulder closures including pedestrian access restrictions along the US 301 corridor northbound and southbound between 25th Court East and 9th Avenue East. Alternate pedestrian routes will be clearly posted. To maintain safety, pedestrians should follow the posted detour signage.
- Motorists can expect right-turn lane closures at the intersections of US 301 and Tallevast Road to 9th Avenue East from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The project’s expected completion is late 2024.

- Motorists should expect shoulder closures including pedestrian access restrictions along the US 301 corridor northbound and southbound between 25th Court East and 9th Avenue East. Alternate pedestrian routes will be clearly posted. To maintain safety, pedestrians should follow the posted detour signage.
- Motorists can expect right-turn lane closures at the intersections of US 301 and Tallevast Road to 9th Avenue East from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Nighttime work will continue at the intersection of US 301 and 63rd Avenue East, starting at 10 p.m. Traffic will be directed by law enforcement as the new mast arms are installed. Hold times of 15 minutes are expected as the new structures are secured. All approaches to the intersection will be affected.
- On Tuesday, June 25, motorists can expect a temporary right lane and right turning lane closure on SR 70 eastbound from 24th Street East to the intersection of SR 70 and US 301. The closure is required to allow crews to safely execute a manhole repair and will be in place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please follow posted signs, be aware of possible delays, include additional travel time, or consider alternate routes during the repair.
- The project’s expected completion is late 2024.

In an effort to finish the Caloosahatchee Bridge project a year ahead of schedule, the bridge will be completely closed after midnight the night of May 31 through August 11, 2024. After August 11, the bridge will reopen with nighttime bridge closures and daytime lane closures as needed.
During the closure, crews will complete the construction of the single median barrier, install new guardrail along the east side of the northbound lanes, and work on the sidewalk on the west side of the southbound lanes.
Electronic message boards and directional signs will be used to make motorists aware of alternate routes that can be used.
Please note that the work schedule is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

SR 70 From East of US 441 to Northeast 17th Avenue: Construction project: Crews will be working on milling and resurfacing, base work, drainage improvements, curb and gutter, guardrails, traffic signals, signage, pavement markings, lighting and other incidental construction.
- Motorists should expect intermittent daytime lane closures to take place both eastbound and westbound on SR 70 between NE 17th Avenue and NE 4th Avenue for curb/sidewalk removal and pour back. Lane closures will take place in the outside travel lanes.

SR 70 from Turner Avenue to East of Ford Dealership: Construction project: This safety and improvement project will include milling, resurfacing, installing new signal detection loops and pull boxes, signage and pavement markings. Please use caution in the area and watch for workers in the work zone.
- Motorists can expect paving operations to occur from 8:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. through late-June 2024.
Estimated completion is late 2024.

SR 70 from Manatee County Line to CR 661: Construction project: Crews will resurface SR 70 from the Manatee County line to CR 661, widen turn lanes and road shoulders, regrade ditches and improve drainage, and perform full depth roadway reconstruction at various locations. During construction the speed limit has been reduced to 50 mph and there will be periodic lane closures on SR 70 from the Manatee County line to CR 661.
- Motorists should expect intermittent shoulder closures along SR 70 throughout the project.
- Motorists should expect lane closures on SR 70 from Manatee County line to County Road 661 throughout the project.

SR 70 From Highlands County Line to SW 21st Avenue: Construction project: Crews will be working on radial widening, drainage, signage, temporary barrier wall, traffic markings, guardrail, roadway milling and resurfacing. There will be lane closures during construction on SR 70.
- Motorists should expect intermittent daytime eastbound and westbound lane closures while crews work on temporary widening, barrier wall installation, and guardrail.

SR 70 from Peace River to Southeast Baker Street: Construction project: Crews will reconstruct approximately 3.4 miles of SR 70 within the City of Arcadia, add new drainage facilities, add new and relocate sanitary and watermain utilities, install new traffic signals, reconstruct sidewalks, and add street lighting in various locations. During construction there will be lane closure on SR 70. Temporary pedestrian pathways will be installed for pedestrians during construction while sidewalks are under construction and detours will be in place during construction, while crews work on side roads; please follow signage and use caution in these areas.
- Motorists should expect lane closures on westbound and eastbound SR 70 from Baker Street to the apex of eastbound and westbound SR 70.
- Robert Ave. at eastbound SR 70 is closed. A detour is in place at Luther Avenue. Please follow detour signs and allow extra travel time.
- Motorists should expect nighttime lane closures on SR 70 westbound of the Peace River and east of US 17, while crews work on utilities.
- New traffic pattern: Northbound US 17 traffic will merge into one lane at SR 70 westbound. All truck traffic travelling westbound on SR 70 wanting to go northbound on US 17 will be detoured to US 17 southbound, then to SR 70 eastbound and then to US 17 northbound.
Estimated completion is summer 2026.

Legacy Trail over Clark Road (SR 72) and Bee Ridge Road (SR 758) Construction Project: Crews have begun constructing two new pedestrian bridges and intersection improvements along the Legacy Trail in Sarasota County. Expect noise from construction equipment, large trucks, and back-up alarms. Occasional nighttime shoulder and/or lane closures during construction to install beams will also be needed. Expected completion is winter 2024/2025.
- Occasional flagging operations will be needed.
- Use caution in the area as large construction vehicles enter/ exit the roadway.

I-75 at US 301 Interchange (Exit 224): Construction project: Project will widen the I-75 from SR 64 to the Manatee River, reconfigure the I-75/US 301 interchange from a partial cloverleaf interchange to a tight diamond configuration, construct new bridges will be constructed over the Manatee River for a northbound exit ramp and a southbound entrance ramp, and US 301 improvements. This week, crews will work on I-75 widening, drainage and utility work on US 301, and pile driving and beam installing for the construction of the new bridges over the Manatee River and Salt Marsh Bridge.
- Motorists should expect single lane closures on I-75 northbound during nighttime/overnight hours from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the duration of the construction; double closures on I-75 southbound during the nighttime/overnight hours from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the duration of the construction.
- Motorists should expect double lane closures on I-75 northbound during nighttime/overnight hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. through the duration of the construction; double closures on I-75 southbound during the nighttime/overnight hours from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the duration of the construction.
