About
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, has begun a resurfacing and safety improvement project on State Road (SR) 60 in Polk County. The project is intended to extend the service life of the existing roadway and improve safety by implementing improved access control, enhancing traffic flow, and reducing crashes. The project consists of milling and resurfacing SR 60 from east of CR 555 to west of Broadway Avenue (SR 700 / US 98) and from Van Fleet Drive to the Peace River Overflow Bridge. Additional improvements include traffic signal upgrades, pedestrian signal upgrades at Baker Avenue, replacing signing and pavement markings, and upgrades to sidewalk and curb ramps in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
