About
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is designing improvements to State Road (SR) 739 in Lee County. This project is intended to improve safety, enhance traffic flow, and reduce crashes by constructing a continuous raised median, with bi-directional and full median openings, from the Caloosahatchee River to north of SR 78. Proposed improvements also consist of milling and resurfacing of the roadway. Two pedestrian hybrid beacons will be provided south of Pondella Road and at Mariana Avenue. Additional improvements include upgrading the traffic signal at Pondella Road; providing upgrades in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); and lighting, signing and pavement markings, and drainage improvements.
Public Involvement
FDOT held a public meeting (online and in-person) on Thursday, September 15, 2022 to present project information and provide an opportunity for the public to offer feedback. Although the meeting comment period is officially closed, copies of the public meeting materials are available for viewing in the Project Documents section. A copy of the public meeting video presentation is available for viewing in the Project Videos section.
FDOT solicits public participation without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.
