View project: Fort Fraser Trail Over SR 60

• This week crews will work on pile driving, moving bridge materials and the crane across S.R. 60, installing MSE (Mechanically Stabilized Earth) wall panels and embankment and constructing temporary access across Bear Creek.

  ·       The trail remains closed at the north trial head just north of S.R. 60 through the end of the trail on the south side of S.R. 60. The north end of the trail remains open.

  ·       Expect nighttime/overnight lane closures between 8 p.m. and 12 p.m. (midnight) on Monday, August 31 while crews move the crane from the south side of S.R. 60 to the north side of S.R. 60. Use caution and watch for law enforcement to help with traffic control and be prepared to merge or stop.

View project: US 98 from north of SR 60 to north of CR 540A

• Crews are scheduled to close the median opening on U.S. 98 at Lyle Parkway in Bartow beginning Thursday night, August 27, to start paving the intersection and installing a new mast arm signal.

  The median opening is expected to remain closed until paving is complete and the signal is installed and operational, which is anticipated to take approximately four months.

• Crews are scheduled to close the median opening on U.S. 98 at Lyle Parkway in Bartow beginning Thursday night, August 27, to start paving the intersection and installing a new mast arm signal.

  The median opening is expected to remain closed until paving is complete and the signal is installed and operational, which is anticipated to take approximately four months.

• The contractor will be hooking up the electrical wiring, adjusting light pole bases and placing sod with periodic lane closures seven days a week. Use caution and be prepared to merge or stop. This project is one of three equally important signal projects under this contract. As a result, crews may be working at one of the other project sites. All three signals are expected to be operational in the fall.

   

View project: CSX Bridge over I-4 Replacement

• Expect westbound I-4 on-ramp closure at Kathleen Road (Exit 31) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily and from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly, Sunday through Thursday nights this week. Motorists wanting to enter I-4 westbound should continue northbound on Kathleen Road past the closed ramp. Turn east on Griffin Road to U.S. 98, head north on U.S. 98 and follow it to the I-4 westbound on-ramp at U.S. 98 (Exit 32).

• ·       Expect periodic nighttime/overnight lane closures throughout the project (weather permitting) both north and southbound while crews are working on punch list items. Use caution and be prepared to merge.

  ·       Expect periodic daytime lane closures north of I-4 while crews work on punch list items. Use caution and be prepared to merge.

   

View project: SR 33 (Lakeland Hills Blvd.) from Parkview Place to North of Granada Street

• ·       Traffic was recently shifted on Lakeland Hills Boulevard from the west side of the roadway to the newly constructed lanes on the east side of the roadway, between East Bella Vista Street and Griffin Road. The remainder of the traffic, south of East Bella Vista Street to Parkview Place is expected to be ready to shift in mid-September. The partial shift will allow crews to begin removing the old water and sewer systems in this area while crews from the City of Lakeland continue making water tie-ins to the new system south of East Bella Vista Street. Motorists should use extra caution until everyone is used to the new traffic pattern.

  ·       This week, crews will continue grading and pouring new sidewalks and driveways on the east side of Lakeland Hills Boulevard between Parkview Place and E. Bella Vista Street. Electrical crews will continue installing signalization, lighting conduit and bases throughout the project. Demolition crews will continue removing old curb and gutter and grading for sod. Drainage crews will continue installing drainage along the west side of LHB.

  ·       One lane in each direction will remain open for most of the project duration. Drivers should use caution, be prepared to merge or stop, and allow extra travel time.

  ·       Speed limit: Reduced to 35 MPH within the construction zone.
