About
The Florida Department of Transportation will be constructing two new pedestrian bridges and intersection improvements along the Legacy Trail in Sarasota County. The trail is within the right of way limits of abandoned CSX railroad tracks and the proposed bridges will span over Clark Road (SR 72) and Bee Ridge Road (SR 758). Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) retaining wall ramps will also be constructed on both approaches to each bridge along with minor roadway and trail modifications to accommodate the new bridges.

SR 758 Bee Ridge Road at the Legacy Trail: Construction project: Crews are constructing two new pedestrian bridges and intersection improvements along the Legacy Trail in Sarasota County. Expected completion is winter 2025.
UPCOMING – DETOUR: a detour will be in place overnight starting November 19, Tuesday, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for installing beams and various overhead bridge activities. Nightly detours are expected for 2-3 days. Following this, additional overnight detours will be scheduled later on for the deck pour and to remove the overhang brackets.• Expected completion is winter 2025.
