SR 82 from Ford Street to Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard: The improvements under this contract consist of pedestrian and safety upgrades to include milling, resurfacing, signing and pavement markings, lighting, signalization, and other incidental construction for intersection improvements along SR 82 from Ford Street to Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard.

• Motorists should expect intermittent nighttime/overnight lane closures beginning Sunday night, October 12, on the interior eastbound and westbound lanes between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Crews will be performing clearing and grubbing operations.

SR 82 from the Hendry County Line to Gator Slough Lane: Construction Project: Motorists should expect intermittent eastbound and westbound lane closures during the daytime and nighttime/overnight hours throughout the duration of the project.

• ·       Work consists of bridge construction, adding lanes and reconstruction, milling and resurfacing, drainage, grass median, sidewalk, guardrail, shared-use path, detention ponds excavation, signalization, lighting, and signing and pavement markings. 

   

  ·       Crews will be performing roadway widening, including clearing & grubbing, excavations, sodding, subgrade & base construction on the westbound and eastbound of the roadway. Crews will be performing bridge deck construction on the westbound side of the roadway. 

  ·       Motorists should expect a nighttime/overnight westbound lane closure on Friday, October 24, 2025. Crews will be paving and performing striping work.

   

  ·       A new traffic pattern is in place at the west end of the project, shifting the eastbound inside travel partially into the existing shoulder area.

   

  ·       Crews will be performing earthwork in the median at the east end of the project.

   

  o   Motorists should anticipate lane closures with flagging operations on State Road 82.

  o   Frequent and brief flagging operations are taking place throughout the day to assist trucks in safely crossing the road within project limits

   

  ·       The current work schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

   

  ·       Motorists should use caution and be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway throughout the duration of the project. The estimated completion Date is Spring 2027.
