About

The Florida Department of Transportation will commence milling, resurfacing, and pavement improvements on State Road 70 (SR 70) from east of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard to west of Lorraine Road in Manatee County on December 10, 2024. The project limits cover approximately 1.8 miles. In addition to resurfacing, crews will install new pavement markings. The estimated project cost is $4.4 million.

  • SR 70 from East of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard to West of Lorraine Road: Construction project: Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures and flagging operations from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. as crews begin milling and resurfacing. Motorists should use caution in the area and consider alternate routes or add additional overnight travel time.

    • Motorists can expect lane closures on the eastbound lane of SR 70, January 5 through January 7, 2025.
    • Motorists can expect lane closures on the westbound lanes of SR 70, January 8 -9, 2025.

    The estimated completion date is mid-2025.
