Project Details
About
The Florida Department of Transportation will begin work on July 8, 2024, to make improvements to SR 64 from west of Prescott Road to Morgan Grice Road in Hardee County. The project limits are approximately 3 miles and include milling, resurfacing and other safety improvements.

Project Improvements
- Resurface SR 64 and road shoulders from westof Prescott Road to Morgan Grice Road
- Correct roadway cross slopes to current standards which will improve drainage and safety
- Estimated construction cost is $5 million
Project Schedule
- Construction begins July 8, 2024;estimated completion is early 2025
- During construction there may be daytime/nighttime lane closures when traffic will be reduced to one lane with flagging operations
- While lane closures are in place the speed limit will be reduced to 50 miles per hour
