About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is designing improvements to US 41 (Tamiami Trail), from 6th Avenue to Manatee Avenue, in Manatee County. To improve mobility and reduce congestion along US 41, the proposed improvement will restrict northbound left-turn movements at the intersection of US 41 and Manatee Avenue and southbound left-turn movements at the intersection of US 41 and 6th Avenue. Northbound left-turning drivers will be rerouted to turn right onto 6th Avenue E, turn left onto 2nd Street E and turn left onto Manatee Avenue E to travel west. Southbound left-turning drivers will be rerouted to turn right onto Manatee Avenue W, turn left onto 2nd Street W and turn left onto 6th Avenue W to travel east. This will also allow for the extension of the southbound left turn lane at the intersection of US 41 and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and provide three through lanes in each direction on US 41 to extend through 6th Avenue and Manatee Avenue.
