About
The purpose of this study is to identify and evaluate potential sites for a new transportation “hub” in Lakeland. This “hub” would facilitate efficient connectivity between all modes of travel and access including: local bus, intercity bus, intercity rail, bicycles, pedestrians, carpooling, ridesharing, taxis and transportation network companies (Uber, Lyft), vehicle sharing, and bicycle sharing among others.
The Lakeland Intermodal Center would serve as a “mobility center” for the region, it is designed for the future, has the ability to grow with the community and encourage economic development. With the help of the project advisory team and members of the community, this study will help propel Lakeland into a future of efficient transportation.
