About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is partnering with Sarasota and Manatee Counties and the Sarasota-Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) to discuss improvements traveling among our neighboring communities. FDOT studied more than eight roadway improvements in the area. Public input was welcomed throughout the process through small group meetings, public meetings, and a robust public involvement effort.

The project is expected to begin construction in mid-2023. The improvements will consist of:

  • Milling and resurfacing
  • Overbuild
  • Widening
  • Guardrail
  • Drainage improvements
  • Signalization
  • Signing and pavement markings

Length of project:  6.1 miles
