The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin a 2.4-mile roadway and safety improvement project on SR 684/Cortez Road from 86th Street/Palma Sola Boulevard to Cape Vista Drive, Manatee County, FL. Work consists of milling, resurfacing, widening, signing and pavement markings, lighting, signalization improvements and the addition of select left turn lanes. For motorist convenience, during construction most lane closures will be limited to overnight hours from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Expect noise from back-up alarms, trucks, and construction equipment.
