The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin lighting improvements for six intersections along SR683/US 301/Washington Blvd. Locations are at Dr. Martin Luther King Way, Myrtle Street, Northgate Blvd, 47th Street, Desoto Road, and 17th Street in Sarasota County. The improvements will bring illuminance levels up to FDOT retrofit lighting standards at each of the six intersections.

The projects consist of:

• Installation of retrofit lighting systems
• Converting existing lighting fixtures from HPS to LED
• Installing new poles, pull boxes, conduit and conductors to supplement existing systems

We anticipate temporary lane closures overnight during construction
