About
The Florida Department of Transportation began improvements on SR 540 (Winter Lake Road) in Polk County on Monday, January 4, 2021. The project limits extend from DeCastro Road (landfill entrance) to Jim Keene Boulevard (county offices entrance).
PROJECT IMPROVEMENTS
- Remove the old asphalt and resurface
- Widen shoulders and add curb
- Extend turn lanes
- Upgrade signal equipment
- Remove pedestrian crossing at Thornhill Road
