The Department of Transportation, District One, is designing a Modern Roundabout at the intersection of SR 64 and Rye Rd. A future leg of the intersection will be included to the south with the extension of White Eagle Blvd.

Other improvements will include sidewalk construction and crosswalks on all sides of the intersection to provide access for all pedestrians along SR 64, Rye Rd. and White Eagle Blvd.

Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacons (RRFB) will be utilized for all crossings of the intersection.

A Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacon (RRFB) consists of two rapidly and alternately flashing rectangular yellow indications having LED-array based pulsing light sources which functions as a warning beacon. To use this device, a pedestrian will press the call button to activate the flashing lights. After a few additional seconds, to give motorists a chance to clear the intersection, the pedestrian will be able to cross.
