BARTOW, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is hosting a Hybrid (online and live in-person) Public Meeting for the proposed traffic operations improvement project on Business 41 (9th Street W), from 6th Avenue W to Manatee Avenue W in Manatee County. The proposed improvement will restrict northbound left-turn movements at the intersection of Business US 41 (9th Street W) and Manatee Avenue W. Northbound left-turning drivers will be rerouted to turn right onto 6th Street W, turn left onto 8th Street W and turn left onto Manatee Avenue W in order to travel west. This will also allow for the extension of the southbound left turn lane at the intersection of Business US 41 (9th Street W) and 6th Street W. The public meeting is being held virtually by registering on the project website, https://www.swflroads.com/444807-3  and with a live in-person component.

  • The virtual public meeting will be held on September 20, 2023. FDOT staff will present to the public and will host a live component beginning at 6:00 pm that will be open to comments from the public.
  • The in-person public meeting will be held on September 21, 2023, at the Manatee Performing Arts Center at 502 3rd Avenue W, Bradenton, FL 34205. The in-person meeting will be an open house format from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and will allow in-person attendees to view a looping presentation and project displays, speak with project team members, and submit comments or questions.

The same materials will be displayed at both the online and in-person events so attending both is not needed. The project meeting materials will be available online for review and comment from Monday, September 18, 2023 through Friday, October 6, 2023. We encourage you to participate and submit any questions you may have through the project website or contact the FDOT Project Manager, Richard (Mose) Howard, P.E. at (863) 519‐2374 or  Richard.
