Southbound lane will remain open

HIGHLANDS COUNTY, Fla.  – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and local law enforcement have closed the inside northbound lane south of US 27 at the intersection with SR 70 due to a crash. The southbound lane of US 27 remains open and unaffected by the closure.

Crews are currently on scene conducting an investigation and cleanup efforts. The timeline for reopening the closed lane is not yet available; so, drivers should anticipate delays in the area.

Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling through the area, consider alternate routes, and follow all posted signs and directions from law enforcement officers.
