MATLACHA, Fla. – The upcoming concrete operations on the Little Pine Island Bridge have been rescheduled for Thursday, March 27th, starting at approximately 2 a.m. This change is due to unforeseen supply issues with the concrete mix ratios, requiring adjustments to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.

Expect increased traffic congestion. Drivers should plan for smoother travel to and from the island.

Crews will be pouring over 300 yards of concrete for the deck slab. The concrete pour will take approximately five hours to complete. During this time, there may be increased noise and additional lighting to allow crews to complete the work safely and effectively.

This marks a significant milestone towards completion of Phase 1 of the project.
