BARTOW, Fla. – Paving continues tonight, Thursday, March 20, on SR 559 at the I-4 interchange (Exit #44), requiring two of the four ramps to close overnight. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, this will be the last night of ramp closures at the interchange. The other two ramps were closed for paving last Tuesday night.

Motorists using the interchange to enter I-4 westbound at SR 559, or exit I-4 eastbound, from 8 p.m. Thursday, March 20, until 6:00 a.m., on Friday, March 21, must follow the posted detour or find an alternate route.

  • Westbound SR 559 (On Ramp #44) Detour: SR 559 traffic wanting to enter I-4 westbound will turn at C. Fred Jones Boulevard headed west to Berkley Road, south to Pace Road, west to University Boulevard north on SR 33 to enter I-4 westbound.
  • Eastbound SR 559 (Exit Ramp #44) Detour: Eastbound traffic will be detoured at SR 33 (Exit #38), turn left under the interstate and follow SR 33 around to SR 559.
