I-4 Ramp Closures Scheduled at SR 559 Tuesday and Wednesday nights
BARTOW, Fla. – The I-4 ramp closures at SR 559 (Exit 44) have been postponed until tonight Tuesday, March 18, and Wednesday night, March 19. Last night’s scheduled closure did not occur due to equipment failure. The closures will still happen two at a time over two nights while the contractor paves SR 559 and the I-4 ramp entrances.
Expect ramp closures at night/overnight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, and Wednesday March 19, on the following schedule:
Tuesday, March 18, 2025 (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.): The eastbound on-ramp and westbound off-ramp at I-4 and SR 559 will be closed with all ramp traffic detoured.
- Eastbound SR 559 (On Ramp #44) Detour: SR 559 Traffic wanting to head eastbound on Interstate 4 will enter Interstate 4 westbound to SR 33 (Exit #38), exit the interstate and re-enter eastbound.
- Westbound SR 559 (Exit Ramp #44) Detour: Westbound traffic will continue on I-4 to SR 33 (Exit #38), exit the interstate and re-enter the interstate headed east to the SR 559 exit.
Wednesday, March 19, 2025 (8 p.m. to 6a.m.): The westbound on-ramp and eastbound off-ramps will be closed with all ramp traffic detoured.
- Westbound SR 559 (On Ramp #44) Detour: SR 559 traffic wanting to enter I-4 westbound will turn at C. Fred Jones Boulevard headed west to Berkley Road, south to Pace Road, west to University Boulevard north on SR 33 to enter I-4 westbound.
- Eastbound SR 559 (Exit Ramp #44) Detour: Eastbound traffic will be detoured at SR 33 (Exit #38), turn left under the interstate and follow SR 33 around to SR 559.
