MOORE HAVEN, Fla.  – Motorists are advised of an emergency road closure on SR 78 East (Lakeport Road) approximately 1.25 miles from the US 27 and SR 78 intersection and about 13 miles from Reservation Road (CR 721) in Glades County. Crews will be making overnight repairs to the railroad crossing. The closure will begin at 5 p.m. today.

Motorists should use Reservation Road (CR 721) and State Road 70 as alternate routes. Crews expect to complete repairs overnight, with the road anticipated to reopen by mid-morning tomorrow.

Law enforcement officers will be on-site to direct traffic. Drivers are urged to plan, expect delays, and seek alternate routes. Motorists should follow posted signage and remain alert to workers, equipment, and traffic control personnel in the area.
