Temporary Road Closure starts March 2 until March 3

HARDEE COUNTY, Fla.  – The City of Wauchula will temporarily close SR 636 (E Main Street) from 5th Avenue to Rust Avenue for milling and repaving work.

The closure will begin Saturday, March 2, 2025, at 6 p.m. and is scheduled to end Sunday, March 3, 2025, at 6 a.m.

A detour route will be in place to guide drivers around the closure:

Southbound US 17 traffic wanting to turn east on SR 636 will be rerouted via E Palmetto St → Rust Ave.

Northbound US 17 traffic wanting to turn east on SR 636 will use E Bay St → Griffin Road.

Sidewalk and driveway access will remain open, and local traffic will still have access.

Motorists are advised to follow detour signs, expect delays, and exercise caution while traveling near the work zone.
