BARTOW, Fla. – Crews will begin paving a section of SR 60 from East Van Fleet Drive to west of C. Wilson Ranch Road in Bartow this week. Motorists should expect daytime lane closures both east and westbound from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, January 8 through Friday, January 10, and are reminded to use caution and be prepared to merge.  Crews will go back to nighttime/overnight paving the following week, provided overnight temperatures remain warm enough to pave.

The paving is part of a bigger project that includes another section of SR 60 from CR 555 (Agricola Road) to west of Broadway Avenue (US 98). Additional improvements include traffic signal upgrades, pedestrian signal upgrades at Baker Avenue, replacing signing and pavement markings, driveway and upgrades to sidewalk and curb ramps in accordance with ADA requirements.
