FORT MYERS, Fla. – Following the successful completion of the 10-week full closure of the Caloosahatchee River Bridge, FDOT crews are making significant progress, moving ahead of schedule, and entering Phase Two of the project. As construction continues, motorists should anticipate nighttime bridge and southbound loop ramp closures and are encouraged to seek alternate routes, adjust commute times, consider carpooling, and stay informed through digital signs displaying real-time traffic information.

These closures are essential for the safety of workers and to ensure optimal access for concrete deliveries and other critical construction activities on the bridge.

**Project Timeline Advancement**

Through the collaboration with the City of Fort Myers and Lee County Government, FDOT has successfully accelerated the project timeline by an entire year. This achievement would not have been possible without the community’s support and cooperation. The ongoing improvements aim to enhance safety for pedestrians, joggers, and cyclists, ensuring that they can use the bridge with confidence.

FDOT recognizes the vital role the Caloosahatchee River Bridge plays in connecting downtown Fort Myers to North Fort Myers, serving as a key artery for work, school, and entertainment. This bridge is more than just infrastructure; it is integral to the region's economic vitality and vibrant culture.
