Update on Caloosahatchee River Bridge Construction Project
Overall project 363 days ahead of schedule
FORT MYER, Fla. – It has been eight weeks since the complete closure of the Caloosahatchee River Bridge, with two weeks remaining. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and Lee County are working diligently to keep the public informed about delays and detours. They are also adjusting traffic signal timings to alleviate congestion over the next two weeks.
This full bridge closure is crucial for completing the project one year and four months ahead of schedule. Progress is moving along as the eighth week of the closure concludes. Crews finished the bridge deck replacement and have constructed 90% of the median barrier wall. Additionally, 95% of the guardrail installation along the northbound side of the bridge is complete.
