Bradenton, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to the State Road (SR) 684 (Cortez Rd W) at Royal Palm Dr. In-Person Design Workshop. The design public workshop is being conducted to present information about the preliminary alternatives and provides the opportunity for the public to express their views about the project.

This project proposes a traffic signal and median modifications to reduce conflict points and improve safety at the intersection of SR 684 (Cortez Rd W) at Royal Palm Dr. The proposed safety improvements will prohibit unprotected left turns from Royal Palm Drive onto SR 684 (Cortez Rd W). The median modification is converting a full median opening to full turn lanes with traffic separators.  A signalized pedestrian crossing with a raised refuge island will be provided. Some side street traffic will be directed to adjacent streets to access SR 684 (Cortez Rd W).

You can participate in the SR 684 (Cortez Rd W) at Royal Palm Dr. Design Workshop in-person on June 13, 2024, anytime from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at (The Bridge Church – Student Wing, 4000 75th St W, Bradenton, FL 34209). The same materials will be displayed both in-person and online which will be posted by June 6, 2024, on the project webpage.

After reviewing the SR 684 (Cortez Rd W) at Royal Palm Dr. Design Workshop materials, and/or participating, you may submit comments in three ways: 1) through the project webpage https://www.swflroads.com/project/454032-1); 2) email the FDOT Project Manager Walter Breuggeman at Walter.Breuggeman@dot.state.fl.us; or 3) mail comments to Walter Breuggeman at FDOT District One, P.O.
