Morning Live shot(s) on ‘Operation Spring Into Safety’
What: The media is invited to conduct morning live shots on the ‘Operation Spring into Safety’ event with the Florida Department of Transportation Safety Administrator, Keith Robbins. Large and heavy equipment will be used as the backdrop.
When: Friday, April 12, 2024 from 5:00 – 8:30 a.m.

Background:
Hundreds are expected to attend the ‘Operation Spring into Safety’ event Saturday, April 13, 9 a.m. – noon at Hertz Everblades Parkway, Estero, FL
This promises to be Southwest Florida’s largest Touch-a-Truck event where children and adults have a rare and unique opportunity to learn about traffic safety by exploring amazing and heavy equipment used in emergencies and routine work such as helicopters, fire trucks, police patrol cars, bomb trucks, dump trucks, robots, marine airboats, muck excavators, semitrucks, swamp buggies, etc.
This free event is a joint effort with FDOT, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and other partner agencies.
