The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One began a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study in July 2019 to evaluate alternatives for capacity, connectivity and safety improvements to State Road SR 544 (Lucerne Park Road) from two to four lanes from Martin Luther King Boulevard to SR 17 in Polk County.
