Sarasota/Manatee Barrier Islands Traffic Study
The Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) requested that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, perform a comprehensive study to determine and recommend potential solutions to vehicle including bicycle, parking and pedestrian circulation issues on the barrier islands, as well as the island-to-mainland connections to the east. The study will identify all key issues, as well as possible alternatives and recommendations.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One will hold a Public Information Workshop on the Sarasota/Manatee Barrier Islands Traffic Study. The open house is from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5 at the Longboat Island Chapel, 6200 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key, Florida, 34228. The department encourages all interested people to attend and express their opinions regarding the project.

The study area is located in Sarasota and Manatee County, Florida and includes portions of both counties, the City of Bradenton, the City of Sarasota, the City of Anna Maria, the City of Bradenton Beach, the City of Holmes Beach, and the Town of Longboat Key
