About

The Collier to Polk Regional Trail will provide a connected multi-use trail that traverses Collier, Hendry, Glades, Highlands, Hardee, and Polk counties. When completed, the project is expected to be approximately 200 miles. This regional trail is being developed to:

  • Enhance economic and nature-based tourism potential within the multi-county study area that includes Florida’s Heartland
  • Connect small towns, parks, preserves, heritage sites, and wildlife corridors
  • Enhance active transportation opportunities in the communities it will traverse

The Master Plan is currently underway to define high-level concepts and routing opportunities and to receive community input. It will be completed by July 2024. This will be followed by PD&E studies that will collectively identify the location and conceptual design of feasible alternatives for this long-distance trail.
