About
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is conducting a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study for the CR 664 Bridge over Little Payne Creek, located in Hardee County, Florida.
The existing bridge was constructed in 1915 and is now functionally obsolete. The recommended improvement includes replacing the bridge with a new, two-lane bridge. The new structure will bring this facility up to current standards.
The proposed project involves the use of properties protected under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966. A Section 106 Case Study is being conducted, as required. The proposed undertaking will result in an "adverse effect" to the NRHP-eligible (National Register of Historic Places) Little Payne Creek Bridge (8HR00374). Mitigation strategies are currently being discussed.
