About

 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin a one-mile roadway safety improvement and roundabout project on US 41 Business from 17th Street to Bayshore Road in Palmetto, Manatee County, FL.  The project consists of milling and resurfacing, lighting and signal improvements, turn lane widening, sidewalk replacement, drainage improvements, and construction of a roundabout at the intersection of US 41 BUS and 23rd Street West.

  • Construction starts winter 2023
  • Expected completion is spring 2024
  • US 41 Business will remain open
  • A detour will be required at 23rd Street W 
  • Expect noise from back-up alarms, trucks, and construction equipment.
Public Involvement

The Florida Department of Transportation District One will host a Construction Open House on January 24, 2023, at the City of Palmetto, City Hall (516 8th Avenue W, Palmetto, FL 34221) from 5 - 7 p.m. The community can view project exhibits and speak with FDOT staff or for those unable to attend, information will also be available on the project webpage at www.swflroads.com.
