Project Description

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One is proposing improvements on US 41. Pedestrian features will be upgraded to be compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines. Proposed median modifications include closing some openings and converting others to directional openings. This project  will maintain and upgrade the road while also managing access to US 41. The design proposes Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation (RRR) improvements and access management changes. The intent is to improve safety and to comply with roadway standards.

Project (RRR) Improvements

  • Resurface US 41 from 1,500 feet south of Payne Street to 1,000 feet north of Rio Villa Drive
  • Widen the road for bicycle keyholes
  • Correct cross slopes
  • Upgrade ADA features
Public Involvement

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One invited the public to a hearing on May 6, 2021. The hearing presented information and collected input on the project design.
