US 41 (SR 45) from Caribbean Drive to SR 72 (Stickney Point Road)
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT is currently preparing design plans for US 41 from Caribbean Drive to SR 72 (Stickney Point Road) for the construction of sidewalks and widening of paved shoulders and turn lanes to accommodate a 6-foot wide bicycle lane. Modifications to existing traffic signals and crosswalks will be made as needed to accommodate the bicycle lanes and new sidewalks. The median openings along the corridor will also be evaluated and modified, as necessary. US 41 and Stickney Point Road intersection safety improvements include removing the free-flow right turn lanes and the islands. The curb will be reconstructed at all corners. A new signal will be constructed with new mast arms and intersection lighting with crosswalk lighting will be installed.
