Public Involvement

US 27 Polk County

Public involvement is a very important part of the US 27 PD&E study. FDOT is using several methods of providing information to and receiving information from project stakeholders including public officials, agencies and interested citizens. They include this website, newsletters, presentations to small groups or organizations, a public information meeting and a formal public hearing.

These meetings will help us identify issues of concern and potential solutions. The public information meeting is held following development of alternatives. We will conduct the hearing to present a preferred alternative(s) and the no build alternative. Following the hearing, FDOT will identify a recommended alternative that we will send to the Federal Highway Administration for acceptance. Throughout the study process, we will make presentations to various governmental groups. Also, interested citizens may request a presentation to their group or organization by clicking on E-mail Us on the Home page.
