About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is preparing design plans for a multi-lane roundabout at the intersection of SR 572 (Drane Field Road) and Waring Road in Polk County. These improvements will also include the removal of the existing mast arm traffic signals and the addition of storm sewers, inlets, closed flumes, and manholes for stormwater conveyance.

The typical section for the proposed project consists of a mult-lane roundabout with travel lanes that vary from 12 to 14 feet, a 170-foot diameter, and 16-foot to 32-foot wide circulating roadway. The drainage will be a combination of a closed system utilizing curb and gutter and an open system with roadside ditches.
