FDOT District One Tentative Five-Year Work Program
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, began developing the Tentative Five-Year Work Program for fiscal years 2019 through 2023 in the spring. Each year, staff at the District works closely with the six metropolitan and transportation planning organizations within the District, as well as our local government partners and regional entities to identify and develop priority projects. Early development of priorities and partnering with these groups stabilizes the department’s work program and helps us maintain Florida’s transportation system at levels our residents, businesses and visitors are accustomed to and expect.
The new Tentative Five Year Work Program includes an update of the common four years of the adopted work program, fiscal years 2019 through 2022, plus the scheduling of projects for a new fifth year, fiscal year 2023. The work program includes highway, bridge, aviation, seaport, rail, transit, multi-use tail, sidewalks and bicycle facilities. The work program update concludes with approval by Florida’s legislature each spring and adoption of the work program by the secretary of transportation prior to the new fiscal year, which begins July 1st.
